Double-crested Cormorant (Seen in The Woodlands, TX)
Double-crested Cormorant -- Note the gorgeous eye color! They nest in large colonies, in large messy stick nests.
  In breeding plumage, the double-crested cormorant is black, with a bronze and green gloss.Also during this breeding season, this cormorant gets two tiny tufts of feathers over the eyes -- this is why he is called "double crested" !!

Neotropic Cormorant (Seen in The Woodlands, TX)
Neotropic Cormorant (winter plumage) The Neotropic Cormorant (on the right) is much smaller than the Double-crested Cormorant. Note that the yellow doesn't encircle his eye, and the tail is longer.
